Lights, Camera, Action.

I’m one of those kids that knew what they were going to pursue for the rest of their life before college, heck, even before high school. I have a direction to go and I’m damn blessed to have one. Just about the only thing that makes me emotional these days is movies. There's something about movies I believe that can strike many chords within us; they can make us cry, laugh, jump, but most of all, think. I think movies can change the world. Whether it's in the smallest of ways by making our day through laughing, or biggest of ways by inspiring us.
I was one of those kids in class back in elementary school that was "exceptional" with technology, and by that I mean I was the one that knew how to work a television, vcr, and knew my way around a computer. It wasn't long until my 7th grade teacher saw this and felt comfortable about giving me radio podcast projects to advertise things going on in school. To put it simple, I made commercials that would play on the PA system in the morning. The school then got video cameras, and it opened up a whole new world. Instead of radio commercials I got to be making full-fledged TV commercials, or PSAs if you want to get technical. I hate to sound cocky here but I was pretty damn good, and I wasn't the only one who noticed. My parents encouraged me, my teacher gave me moreprojects, and my principal would talk to me about it too. Thus, my journey to become a filmmaker had started, and while I have a lot in my portfolio there are still miles to go and I continue this journey by watching movies, but not the way your average everyday moviegoer does.
I watch how movies are made, the many shots composed, the character development, the dialogue, everything. That is why I want to make a movie blog, so I could share with you what I see. In addition to these movie reviews on this blog, I do plan to share with you other movie related news. Do you want to know where Disney may be taking their whole marvel franchise next? Or maybe what they plan to do with Star Wars and the rest of Lucas films rights such as Indianna Jones since they had bought the company in a 4 billion dollar deal. For one blog post I plan to highlight the career of Quentin Tarantino, director and writer of films such as Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds, and Django Unchained. So I implore you dear reader, if you watch movies, if you like Star Wars, super heroes, Disney, or directors, you’re in the right place. For now, to keep you occupied until my next post, check out my very first official PSA I made back in 8th grade:
